Hip-Hop Music which is called as rap music is the most famous and popular genre of music in the United State which consists of a stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rapping, a rhythmic and rhyming speech that is chanted. It generally made up of two components, rapping and record stretching. Rapping is also called as Mcing and Djing, which also includes of audio mixing. When these components combined with graffiti and Break-dancing form the four core elements of hip-hop.

Firstly, hip-hop music was initiated as a cultural movement by inner – city youth, mostly Latinos, Hispanics, and African American in New York City. In the sixties the word rap is derived from a slang word that meant conversation. It has mainly two historical eras, the old school hip-hop era and golden age hip hop era.
The origin of hip-hop music is from African American and West American music. In the 1960, contributions of griots like The Last Poets, Jalal Mansun Nurridin and Gill Scott-Heron plays a significant role in the hip-hop music. Hip hop had generally starts in the Bronx.

In the 1970s, other artists entered into the scene such as Grandmaster Flash and Jazzy Jay. They expand the rap music by utilizing back-beats, cutting and scratching. Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" was the first song recorded and released by a hip hop group which was considered as a very first release of this type of music.
“Golden age of the music genre” was introduced in 1985 and was characterized by quality, influence, diversity and innovation. After this two more popular themes, such as Afrocentric and political militancy were introduced. More emphasis was also put in experimentation in this musical genre. Public Enemy was the major factor of this era of rap music. In the I980, this music was crossing the boundaries of many punk and new wave bands.
Today , hip-hop enjoyed all around the world. It is the world’s most popular youth culture in which every country has its own brand and takes it.
